Single Day Tours
If you only have a single day available to tour the battlefields of Normandy time is of the essence. Normandy Battle Tours does not, unlike many other tour operators tolerate drive by tours of the battlefields - the stories and actions of the men who fought here deserve far more than this. If you only have one day available we can offer you what we call a 'Sector Tour'. Due to time limitations and distances between sites we only ever cover one sector in one day. You will have to choose which sector you would prefer to see.
Our very popular US Sector Tour drives through the Bocage Hedgerow country to visit the most famous sites in the American Sector. On this tour we visit places like (but not necessarily limited to); Ste Mere Eglise, Utah Beach, Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery. Extra visits to places like Brecourt Manor, Angoville au Plain, La Fiere and Carentan may be possible if time permits.
Our British Sector Tour visits The Merville Battery, Ranville Cemetery, Pegasus Bridge, Sword Beach, The Hillman Fortification, Gold Beach, Arromanches and The Longues Battery. Depending on time it may be possible to make additional visits to places like Varaville, Breville, Chateau St Come, Perriers sur le Dan, Lebisey, Mont Fleury and Crepon.
The Canadian Sector Tour visits Juno Beach (three stops at St Aubin sur Mer, Bernieres sur Mer and Courseulles sur Mer), before following the Canadian 3rd Infantry's advance through Tailleville, Reviers, Fontaine Henry, Anisy, Villons les Buissons, Authie, The Abbaye d'Ardennes and Bretteville l'Orgueilleuse. If time permits it may also be possible to visit Norrey en Bessin, Putot en Bessin, Les Mesnil Patry and Carpiquet.
Our single day tours run within the hours of 9am and 6pm and start and end at either your Normandy hotel (this must be within a 10 minute drive of either Bayeux or Ste Mere Eglise) or a local railway station (it is possible for you to take these tours as a day trip from Paris by catching an early train from Paris St Lazare to Carentan for the US Sector Tour or Bayeux Station for the British or Canadian Sector Tours - weekdays only).
